I'm writing to ask that you SIGN and SHARE our NEW petition specifically asking the school board to ACT: https://www.change.org/SaveTheSchoolBusesToKeepKidsSafe
Our timeline is short. The last school board meeting is on July 13th next week. In order for meaningful change to occur we need for:
1) A board member to make a motion to suspend school bus cuts.
2) A second board member to second that motion.
3) A majority vote to suspend school bus cuts.
Our second petition is specifically asking the school board to suspend all bus cuts for at least a year to allow for A) better safety planning and safety assessments of all new non-transportation areas including those for children without advocates and B) public discussion to include brainstorming plans that do not include bus cuts.
We've had over 1,000 signatures on our first petition and we know that most if not all of you would also want the board to take action. Please sign and share this NEW petition with all of your Howard County contacts and organizations.
