Sadly this week saw another platypus injured at Fernglade Reserve. A mature male was found wallowing in the grassy shallows, with injuries to, and bleeding from his bill. After a few days of treatment and care, he is now back in the wild. While it's difficult to determine exactly what happened to him, a dog attack, or a fishing or road accident, certainly can't be ruled out. This is the 4th platypus injured or killed in the reserve in the past few months, we need to do better.
