🚨 URGENT UPDATE: 7th Ave & Brommer Development — We Need Everyone Right Now 📣

This is moving fast, and the window to have real influence is closing. Here's where things stand:
What's happening: The 100-unit development at 7th & Brommer is heading toward a decision. Once it's approved, we only have 10 days to appeal to the Coastal Commission. A public hearing before the Zoning Administrator only happens if residents formally request one in writing during a short notice period. Miss it, and there's no hearing at all.
Write the developer: 7thandbrommer@gmail.com
What's still unanswered, right now, today:
• Only 66 parking spots for 100 units, a quarter of them 3-bedroom family homes. No parking study confirmed.
• One single access point for 100+ households. No Fire Marshal confirmation on emergency access.
• An unresolved road/easement question crossing the property, ownership and legal access still unconfirmed.
• Public access to the green space was denied over "liability," but California law (Civil Code §846) already protects landowners who allow public recreational access. That excuse doesn't hold up.
• No confirmation on water/sewage capacity.
This is our moment.
Here's exactly what to do, today:
Sign the petition and share it everywhere, 7th Ave, Brommer, Stagg Lane, all of it.
Send one email right now to all four of these:
• Supervisor Manu Koenig: Manu.Koenig@santacruzcountyca.gov
• The developer: 7thandbrommer@gmail.com
• County Planning/Zoning: Planning.ZoningInfo@santacruzcountyca.gov
• Coastal Commission staff (Central Coast District office)
• Watch your mail. The second the official notice arrives, request a hearing in writing immediately.
We are not against affordable housing. We are against real safety and legal questions being ignored because no one's watching closely enough. Right now, we're watching. Every signature and every email raises the cost of pushing this through without answers.
ACT TODAY. This window closes fast. 📣
