The issue

DO NOT DONATE MONEY! THIS IS AN ASSIGNMENT!

Our marine animals are in serious trouble. With climate change, pollution, rising ocean levels and heating waters these animals have everything against them.

We (Marine Animal Protection/M.A.P.) are trying to give these animals a chance of survival. If we work together and get your help, we can give our ocean animals hope of survival. Did you know that only about 3% of the entire ocean is effectively protected?

Need examples of why we need to help marine animals:

The vaquita is a marine mammal that has a population of only 10! In the past decade their population has plummeted from 576 to their dwindling number of just ten! This is horrible and we can't let it continue. We can't let this amazing creature become extinct! They play such a vital role in their ocean home.

Another example of a sea creature under threat is the north Atlantic right whale. As said in our ad, this species has less than 400 members remaining. This number is astonishingly bad, and we need to act now to prevent their dwindling number from getting any lower. However, vaquitas and north Atlantic right whales are not the only animals in trouble.

So many species are in endangered, and we can only help each and every one with your help! Even if you can't directly help our cause than just sign the petition! Every signature counts!

It's time to save not just the dolphins, not just the whales, but all marine animals!

If we get enough signatures, we are planning on sending this to the newly appointed Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek. We need to show her that we do need to do something for our marine animals, and it needs to be done now! By showing her that we got a lot of support from the public than it is sure to encourage action for our precious marine life. Sign today!

(Thank you to all those who have already signed! It means a lot!)
