Petition updateSave Our Historic Woodland Corridor: Preserve Homer Glen's Environmental Integrity!Attend OCT. 3rd, 2023 "Workshop" at the Village Meeting

29 Sept 2023

Please attend this public meeting or consider emailing representatives in opposition of this impractical and extravagant road project!

This October 3rd, 2023, Tuesday, there will be a Homer Glen, Illinois Village Meeting known as a "Workshop" which invites the public to come in, listen to a presentation the Village of Homer Glen has prepared, then afterwards, Public Comment is open. We need you to attend and be involved!

This "Workshop" is due to be a "fluid" and "conversational" gathering which invites residents, stakeholders, and concerned citizens to vocalize their concerns, questions and feedback regarding the road project known as "Parker-Hadley Road Project" per Will County's transportation plan.

This 4-mile corridor consists of three roadways (Parker Road, Chicago Bloomington Trail Road, and Hadley Road, but for the sake of a shorter name, it is called "Parker-Hadley").

October 3rd, 2023, Tuesday. At the Village of Homer Glen, Illinois.

Start time: 6:30pm (arrive 15 minutes early)

14240 W. 151st Street, Homer Glen, Illinois, 60491

If you cannot attend yet want to help with this dire issue which would result in:

*The demolition of hundreds of mature trees

*Demolition of woodlands

*Demolition of farmland

*Damaging people's property (septic tanks, leach fields, utilities, etc.)

*Encroachment onto designated protected land

*Extinguishing significant historical structures/paths

*Exterminating vital plants and creatures in their natural biome

...while inviting truck traffic, inviting more cars, inviting high speeds, inviting unwanted and not needed development, etc. then---->

PLEASE CONSIDER EMAILING these reps to tell them to STOP THIS ROAD PROJECT

The data the county has collected is flawed & hence does not warrant this road project!

As of now this 4-mile stretch is a Will County Road. A rural minor collector road, with over 100 driveways. The Village or Township can obtain a JT (Jurisdictional Transfer) and maintain the road without any federal funds.
