FINAL CHANCE: June 12th, 4:00 PM Budget Amendment Vote and Operating Budget Adoption

The Board of Education will be meeting to vote on possible operating budget amendments and on the final operating budget on Thursday, June 12th at 4:00 PM. This meeting was converted from a simple budget signing to include a vote for possible amendments prior to the budget adoption.

Without change, 39 elementary GT & 12 music teachers will be cut for the incoming school year that begins in August. Opportunities for children in Howard County will decrease.

What can you do?
1) Reach out personally to Board of Education members whether by their publicly listed phone numbers and/or their individual emails that can all be found here: https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/hcpssmd/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=CLVTDZ6ABF49

2) Show up with signs to the 4:00 PM meeting at the Board of Education building at 10910 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042. Come early to get a good seat. For signs, use large, thick letters that can be read from 30 feet away. For those who can come early, you can rally and hold signs in front of the building as early as you would like, but we encourage you to go inside a few minutes before the meeting starts so that voting board members can see your signs.

This is your final chance to speak out on this year's operating budget. Once school programs are cut, unfortunately history in Howard County shows that they don't come back.
