We have been informed of plans to build a block of flats at this location on Market Road, Wickford. Planted more than 80 years ago, are 2, very established, London plane trees. Which therefore are an extremely important part of the environment.

There are many of us from Wickford, Essex who are in a group, who have signed the petition and that are completely behind the urgency to save the trees and plant more. We are not prepared to see any more of our town's environment destroyed for housing or businesses.

1 acre of trees can remove upto 2.6 tons of carbon dioxide each year, Wickford was once known for it's beautiful fields and environment.
