Save our dying elderly in Georgia nursing homes

Save our dying elderly in Georgia nursing homes
The Issue
It’s time to stand up, and protect our dying elderly in nursing homes. The baby boomers are entering these facilities in large numbers, and we need to keep them safe. Statistics show that falls are a huge cause of injury to this precious population. Many elderly are also on blood thinning medication which greatly increases their risk of internal bleeds. I am demanding that all nursing home residents with UNWITNESSED FALLS be sent to the EMERGENCY ROOM for IMMEDIATE EVALUATION. My mom died unnecessarily at just 69 years young as the result of an unwitnessed fall at Magnolia Manor nursing home in Columbus Georgia. She was on blood thinners at the time. My Mom fell from her wheelchair, she was heard yelling from her room, and she was found lying on the floor beside her bed. The Nurse called, and left me a message saying she was not injured in any way. My mom actually had a subdural hematoma (head injury) and was bleeding into her brain. It was 4 days before she was sent to the emergency room. By this time it was too late to save her. She suffered a horrible death because nurses just assumed she didn’t hit her head even though no one saw her fall. Internal bleeds are not visible to the naked eye. This could have easily been prevented had they sent her to the emergency room for immediate evaluation. Please help our dying seniors!
