The Issue

Save our Theater!!! 🎟️🎬 ⭐️ The theater has statium seating with comfortable recliners that fully recline. Beautiful clean interior, and features the only screen X in maryland.   🌟 This is the only theater in the area that is separate from a mall. The parking is great!!! Have you tried parking at the malls recently to see a movie!??  🍿This theater provides service to families with children, elderly people and those with disabilities with its simple parking and entrance location. The theater contains no stairs and provides large seating areas for patrons using a full wheelchair. 🍿This theater is historic originally owned By United Artists - started in 1919  https://marypickford.org/caris-articles/creation-united-artists/ The property, located in the 9100 block of Commerce Center Drive, is owned by Sterling Organization, a private equity real estate firm headquartered in West Palm Beach.  This company in FL has no stake in our quality of life in Maryland. They want to demolish a perfectly good movie theater for no reason than to make more money off of us. There is no way to hold them accountable!! They could just as easily leave the building completely abandoned for their own convenience.  Please sign the petition!!!  📽️  Regal assumed operation of the theater in 2002 when United Artists became part of Regal Entertainment Group. Regal closed the theatre on July 26, 2023 and it was taken over by Cinemark who reopening it on August 1, 2023. Cinemark moved out of the building on April 17, 2025 and it was immediately taken over by Phoenix Entertainment, reopening on May 9, 2025. It was closed on January 5, 2026, with demolition to follow.
