The Issue

Petition to: Property Owner of the Carp Plaza & City of Ottawa Officials

For decades, a local bakery in Carp has been part of the heart of this community.

Long before Carp grew into what it is today — before new businesses, new homes, and increased traffic — this bakery was here. When the village was quiet and options were limited, they stayed open and served the people who lived here.

They showed up for the community when few others did.

Today, they are at risk of being forced out — not because of lack of support, but because rising rent is making it difficult for them to continue operating in the town they helped build.

This is not just about one business.

This is about:• Supporting local families• Preserving Carp’s identity• Protecting long-standing small businesses• Standing behind businesses that have stood by the community

This bakery still has a loyal customer base. People continue to visit regularly, support them, and rely on them as part of daily life in Carp.

We are calling on the property owner to work toward a fair and reasonable solution that allows this bakery to remain in the community.

We are also calling on community members and local leaders to support efforts to keep this long-standing business open.

If this bakery is forced to close, Carp loses more than a place to buy bread — it loses a piece of its history.

Sign this petition to help keep our Carp bakery where it belongs — in the community it helped build.
