By signing this petition, we request MARIANA SOUTHERN AIRLINES and STAR MARIANAS AIR and COMMONWEALTH PORTS AUTHORITY and THE GOVERNMENT OF THE NORTHERN MARIANAS ISLANDS to sit round table to come to an arrangement to:

1. Achieve harmony
2. Reinstate the MSA support contract or at least talk it out
3. Consider consequences of increasing the airport fee paid by us
4. Fight to keep Asiana Airline in Saipan
5. Fight to keep United fares affordable
6. Bring more airline to CNMI

We people rely on access to affordable, convenient, reliable, and safe air transportation between the islands (Guam, Rota, Saipan, Tinian). We need travel to keep in close contact with loved ones, medical treatment, to bring fresh produce, for work and even to bring our deceased brother’s home with dignity.

 

 

We also need more available airline seats to help the people who need to travel off island and those connecting to overseas flight. With two inter-island airlines, Mariana Southern Airline and STAR Marianas Air, we have choice and value.  We just cant afford to return to the times when STAR Marianas Air suspended their services or even the risk it happening again. In those times we were stranded and had no alternative to choose from.

 

 

Our homeland is already becoming more isolated. We cannot afford for our homes to become desert islands. 

 

 

After 30 years serving our nation, Asiana Airlines announced this week they they are pulling out of the Commonwealth and cancelling their service to Saipan from March 4th. In recent years we lost Air Busan, Air Seoul, Delta, Hong Kong Express, Philippines Airlines, and Skymark.  Now the cost of airline ticket overseas is getting more and more expensive. United have just hiked their prices and locals price with them gives us no bags!

 

 

At the same time the CPA in talking about increasing the fees that airlines and us (their customer) pay for airlines at the airport. 

1. Are the CPA increasing the fees because STAR MARIANAS didn’t pay their $4,700,000 Million bills???
2. Why make other airlines pay for that???

Increasing the airport fees might make other airlines run away too, and then we will become even more isolated.

ALL PEOPLES NEED TO GET AROUND THE TABLE AND ANSWER THESE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS
