Until this week, very few people were aware that the community plan that you are aware of, both residential and commercial/mixed-use, is just half of the housing plan. They have what the city calls “overlays” which add incentives for building housing in transit corridors and close to businesses without regard to the zoning.

What does this mean? An area that is now draft zoned as 4L and is located in a TOC Zone can build up to a 6-story structure.

The photo above is what we could be looking at - next door to our homes. Even larger builds are proposed in Osage South of 83rd ST!

What can you do?

- Continue to send emails! Write an email stating your strong opposition to the City's Community Draft plan for Westchester.  Send it to the City decision-makers as soon as possible: Los Angeles Mayor's Office <mayor.helpdesk@lacity.org>, Councilwoman Traci Park <councilmember.park@lacity.org>, Jeff Khau <jeff.khau@lacity.org>, Benjamin Sullivan <benjamin.sullivan@lacity.org>, Diego Janacua <diego.janacua@lacity.org>, Planning Land Use & Development Committee <pluc@ncwpdr.org>, Paula Gerez <paula.ncwpdr@gmail.com>, Sean Silva <sean.silva@lacity.org>

- Activate your neighbors!
