THE PROTEST IS STILL ON : TENTS UPROOTED BUT NOT THE INDOMITABLE SPIRIT OF STUDENTS

Day 4 of the Protest has begun. The students are still determined in fighting for their rights. They sit in the scorching heat, waiting for their Chancellor to come and address their grievances. It is saddening to see that the students who joined the university with the hope of creating a bright future for themselves being dashed down by the Hon'ble Acting Vice Chancellor in charge with threats being given to them that if they do not bring the protest to an end, their careers will be ruined. Also, in these four days, the students have been victimized as show cause notices have been issued against 9 students who were merely participating in this peaceful protest. Physical force was used on the students. They were roughed up and dragged by the police which also broke the lock that put on the main gate. The students who were recording the actions of the police were detained in police vans while the authorities tried to force the students to leave the protest immediately. Water cannons and police men were deployed inside the university in order to intimidate the students and to scare them so that the protest comes to an end. But, the students showed great resilience and courage as they kept sitting with folded hands in prayer so that their demands are heard by the Chancellor of the University. With the temperature dropping really low, the students kept sitting on the road throughout the night. This tyranny of the administration where the same did not hesitate in using physical force on innocent students solidifies the wrath of maladministration that is faced by the students everyday. Moreover, even though, they took the tent away as well, the students are still sitting under the strong sun to get their demands fulfilled. WE STAND IN SOLIDARITY. WE STAND FOR OUR RIGHTS.
