50 HOURS OF PROTEST: THE HON'BLE COURT ADDRESSES STUDENTS; STATE STILL INDIFFERENT

The peaceful lock down in the premises of NUSRL entered its 3rd day as students continue protests in spite of scorching heat and shivering midnight chills(19 degree C). The 50th hour of the protests witnessed the arrival of Hon'ble Judges of the High Court along with the director of Judicial Academy Gautam Chaudhary. The students were extremely grateful for the acknowledgment and indulged in a healthy discussion with the eminent judicial authorities. They addressed the students and heard their grievances only to give further assurances to resolve their issues. However, as earlier stated familiar with the non-viability of such assurances, students are completely determined to continue with the protests still a concrete action is taken. Simultaneously, owing to loss of academics the senior most batch of the University has decided to conduct classes at the protest venue itself (Such an exemplary gesture). Law schools across the India along with National Law Universities such as NLU - Assam, CNLU, DSNLU, NUJS, NLUO, TNNLS, ILNU to name a few has shown solidarity with the agitating students of NUSRL via support notes. #SaveNusrl and #OccupyNusrl were tweeted to the tune of close to 3lakh impressions as gathered from analytics data. Nevertheless the protest still continues even after 65 hours. We won't budge until our grievances are addressed by CM and Hon'ble CJ and concrete actions are taken.
