We are still fighting for our own rights to our own property design as a native species habitat.
Today, we had a few Cabbage Butterflies resting on dandelions as they went from Flower to flower in the garden. The violets are going strong as are the strawberries. There's significant growth for the milkweed plants as well. ( We note that there had been some munching on leaves , which is exciting.)
On the list of emerging visitors, we saw ladybugs, painted ladies, cabbage butterflies, some smaller bees, a few different bumbles and other small insects. We have our yearly grackle family, the woodpecker has been by too. There's robins, jays, titmice, a pound mating cardinal pair and other birds come by lately for a visit as well. There's lots of hopeful spring into summer movement going on at this time.
Lots of early pollinating plants are entering their seed phases as the next batch is coming in much stronger this year. (We are soo very happy for that.)
