Greta Gerwig has found the skin of a lion and dressed herself in it, impersonating a level of excellence she is incapable of understanding much less attaining herself- only there's no shifty ape behind it all.
In C. S. Lewis' books Aslan is meant to represent Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Saviour of the world. In Greta Gerwig's movie, Aslan is inspired by none other than David Bowie, the evidence of which we see in a newly released image in which "Aslan" sports a Bowie-style red lightning bolt across his forehead.
As if that isn't bad enough, Meryl Streep is indeed confirmed to be the actress playing Aslan. These two people respectively inspiring and acting the most pivotal person in the entire story personify the utter opposite of everything C.S. Lewis sought to embody in Aslan.
Moreover, the other images released only further testify to Greta Gerwig's determination to pervert beloved Christian tales, and would be better fit coming from an 80's sci-fi flick.
Lots of money is no substitute for a true love of the book and what it stands for. Their ever "stunning visuals" is merely lipstick on a pig.
Yet I have no doubt that Ginger the cat would be a vocal supporter of the project, and first in line on opening night.
