The petition, which gathered more than 15,500 views and 5500 signatures, was emailed to the Assistant Director of Communication and Information at UNESCO, and the Director of UNESCO World Heritage Centre. A reply was received from UNESCO indicating their attention to the matter and the notification of the team both at the World Heritage Centre as well as UNESCO’s team in Beirut for follow up.

The Nahr el Kalb site is on the Tentative List of World Heritage Centre:
