Save My Service Dog from Unjust Euthanasia
The Issue
update: first and foremost thank you to each of you who’s signed and shared this so far it’s truly amazing to see so many people we know and don’t know taking their time to rally together for us! It’s giving me hope when i thought it was impossible. We’ll forever be grateful to every one of u.
second off I decided to let everyone know in case there’s anyone interested in coming personally to help support this that they set a hearing with the city administrator and the mpd and our family for Monday August 11, 2025 at 11:00 am. I welcome anyone who feels comfortable to be a part of this I can’t say if you’ll be allowed to go in with all of us but just any extra presence there will be a strong sign to these people that Kirby’s loved by many and not a vicious animal who deserve to be sentenced to death but a VERY LOVED AND NEEDED member of not only our family but so many of yours. These people aren’t just trying to rip him away from us but many many others who love him so much! We hope to see as many of you there as possible! Again we thank you for all the support and love you’ve all shown us so far! Without it I can’t say I’d have the strength to face another day of this hell I’m going thru much love
-Heather and Matthew Robb
My service dog's life is in grave danger. For months, he was provoked and endured harassment without retaliating. It culminated in a single unfortunate incident where, under undue stress and agitation, he bit someone. Despite this bite being out of character and a direct result of relentless provocation, the city and police now want to put him down.
This is not just an animal we're talking about; this is my service dog—a vital companion who is integral to my health and wellbeing. He assists me in managing my mental health, offering support that no medication or traditional therapy can provide. He is family to me, someone I depend on every single day.
Evidence supports that the incident was a reaction to continuous provocation. Isn’t it unjust to punish an animal who was simply trying to defend himself after enduring so much?
The consequences of losing him go beyond the heartbreak of losing a family member. It directly affects my mental health and daily functioning. Service dogs are trained to handle specific tasks for the individuals they support, and his absence would leave a gap in my life that can't easily be filled.
We are urging the city authorities and the police to reconsider their decision. Implementing rehabilitative measures, or creating stricter guidelines for handling service dogs in distress, are better alternatives than taking a life that supports another.
Please sign this petition to save my service dog's life and advocate for the re-evaluation of how such cases are handled. Your support is crucial in helping authorities see the broader impact of their decision, not just on my life, but on others who rely on service animals for their wellbeing. Help protect other service dogs from similar fate due to misunderstandings.
Here’s a link to the gofundme page for those who are able and willing to help us with lawyers fees. Thank u al for ur support
