Petition Update

I have strengthened and updated this petition to better reflect the concerns of thousands of students, teachers, employees, and their families who may be affected by the proposed demolition of Mohammad Ali Jauhar University.

The revised petition now:

Places greater emphasis on protecting the academic future of students.
Highlights the livelihood concerns of teachers, staff, and the impact on their families, including women and children.
Affirms that a university is a national asset—a temple of education, research, and nation-building that should be preserved in a civilized society.
Calls for lawful alternatives, including compounding wherever legally permissible, instead of demolition.
Raises important questions that deserve answers before any irreversible action is taken, including who will safeguard students' futures, compensate for educational and economic losses, protect affected employees, and assess the broader social and economic consequences.
In addition, yesterday I formally emailed the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, and the District Magistrate of Rampur, urging them to intervene immediately, halt the proposed demolition in the public interest, and protect the academic future of thousands of students and the livelihoods of university employees through a lawful and humane solution.

This campaign is not about defending any individual or alleged administrative irregularity. It is about protecting innocent students, preserving education, safeguarding livelihoods, and ensuring that any action taken is fair, proportionate, and in the larger public interest.
