Save Mine Creek Trail

Save Mine Creek Trail
The Issue
The greenway advisory board has advised to relocate mine creek trail as close as 40ft from Ridgeloch Townhomes destroying two historic bridges in the process. The oldest and arguably most beautiful portion of the greenway will no longer have the iconic whimsical walkway and instead an over 100x10ft long wall. This will not only affect the privacy and safety of residents in the Ridgeloch community but also the citizens of Raleigh who walk the path and enjoy the nature each day.
Raleigh parks and recreation continues to build and repair other bridges throughout the city but sees these two bridges as an opportunity to save money on maintenance of greenways. By repairing the bridges, the historical nature and greenery of the area will be restored. Shrubbery and nature and will flourish with new light after constructing new bridges. Residents will maintain their land and rights to privacy, quiet, and peace.
Please act now, the vote by city council is upon us.
