PROTECT TREES AND PARKLAND - Family Event - Sunday 13 September 2026

Hello friends, its been just over four years since we began the fight to protect parkland and trees at McIvor Reserve, and we intend to continue until the parkland is spared from over-development. Please join us for this feel-good event at which you get to show how much you care.  

Friends of McIvor Reserve is hosting this community crafting event and we would really love to see you there - WRAP THE BARK, SAVE THE PARK. 11am, Sunday 13 September 2026. 

Around 132 trees are earmarked to be removed for development. This family-friendly event is to raise community awareness and give residents the opportunity to show they care by wrapping a woolly scarf around their favourite tree. 

Community-made scarves will be provided for this installation. Come along and learn more about what these specific trees do for us and why they must stay.

Play some games, win a prize! The Yarraville-Footscray Bowling Club are our wonderful co-hosts and they will be running free barefoot bowls and a free sausage sizzle. All welcome.
