Dear Marian Street Theatre supporters, As you know, progress is slow...but... Recently a group of local residents have come together to raise the support needed to reopen Marian Street Theatre to become a sustainable cultural hub. This is the best news for the theatre in recent years! In support of this, there aims to be a Mayoral Minute on the 6th of September. It will be voted on by Council, so to encourage Councillors to support this venture, we are kick-starting this petition again. The more signatures, the more community support, and the more likely they will vote in favour of re-opening the building. In addition, with Council amalgamations imminent, we need urgently to make a public commitment to safeguarding the theatre’s future, and say that we want the theatre to be re-opened.
