Post Covid-19 after about six and a half years behind bars, Dr Ganja and Muhammad Lukman were released upon completing their sentences. However, the laws governing cannabis remains the same. The Dangerous Drug Act 1952 and the Poisons Act 1952 in Malaysia lists cannabis and all its derivatives under Schedule 1.

This schedule means that cannabis does not have any medical use and is a highly dangerous substance. The truth could not be hidden anymore, cannabis has been legalized in many countries across the globe providing detailed and well document evidence on its safety and efficacy.

In history we learn that humans who craze power on earth make use of their position to alter the course of life for ordinary people. Cannabis suffered the same fate and millions of people around the world have stood up for it and even lost their life in the name of the truth. As humans, as citizens of this planet, let's come together and make a difference for our future generations.

Kindly share the link of this petition to your family and friends so that medical cannabis can be made available for the citizens of Malaysia. This petition will be presented to the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong in 2024 together with the complete report from MASA of our efforts since 2018, highlighting how the government could immediately allow medical cannabis use by referring to the existing laws.

An update on medical cannabis research in Malaysia, the animal model clinical trials in University Putra Malaysia (UPM) was documented by MASA. Read more on our website at www.masasociety.com.
