As a Great Wolf Lodge visitor and fan, I am deeply concerned about the future of the MagiQuest franchise and especially locations that currently have the original Legacy version of the game as well as expansions like Shadow Quest, and Guardians of the Realm Portals.

Why does this matter, because the original versions of MagiQuest are more fun and realistic to me and some fans alike, and the newest version of the game has not been well received from the MagiQuest fan club.

Families, kids and fans alike have been coming to the Great Wolf Lodge to go play in the water park, eat good food, or to go play games such as MagiQuest. However fans who love the Legacy version of the game as well as original expansions like Shadow Quest are deeply concerned because those versions could be closing forever.

Shadow Quest was first tested in 2013 at MagiQuest Legacy locations at Great Wolf Lodges, not all of them, and they were well received by the fans. Then in 2014 is when a new version of Legacy called “MagiQuest Chronicles: Guardians of the Realm Portals” or “MagiQuest 2.0” debuted and included the Shadow Quest expansion, then known as “Journey to Save the Light”. However in recent years, locations that currently have Chronicles have since then removed the Shadow Quest expansion without giving us a reason. Some have replaced it with a new expansion called “Rise of the Totem Masters” and some Chronicles Guardians locations have no expansions at all after they were all removed.

In 2021, Great Wolf Resorts, owner of the Great Wolf Lodge hotels had recently debuted an awful remake of MagiQuest dubbed “MagiQuest Evergreen” in various Great Wolf Lodge Hotels, some of them formerly had the original Legacy MagiQuest game. This version has different quests, different items and various other things that are now gone from the original game. This version’s direction and story are completely different and the human characters have been eliminated in favor of talking cartoonish animals as your guides, and they have also made changes to some of the antagonists like Charlock the Red Dragon in the boss fight levels. I do not like this version at all! The game to me is just gone, and the magic, spirit, and charm from the original game had been removed entirely!

So I encourage Great Wolf Resorts and the owners to please reconsider this move and work hard to preserve MagiQuest Legacy and Shadow Quest at all Great Wolf Lodge locations where they currently have it so that more kids and families and some older fans and new generations can still enjoy playing that game for many years to come!

In summer 2025, Great Wolf had begun testing a “Redux Version” of MagiQuest Legacy at 3 different Great Wolf Lodge hotels that had the original version to see how well that version of Legacy does. It’s basically an updated version of legacy with small changes to dialogue and various quests, and I support that move. They are currently using the Redux MagiQuest as a test run and I hope they’ll continue to care about the original MagiQuest Legacy game and their original expansions.

Also MagiQuest used to have an expansion game called “CompassQuest” but in recent years most Great Wolf Lodge locations had removed it entirely for unknown reason.

So if you are a MagiQuest or Great Wolf Lodge fan who loves playing MagiQuest or if you are looking forward to visit the hotels and play MagiQuest for the first time or continuing your MagiQuest adventures, please share your thoughts and which version do you like the most? By signing this petition, you show to Great Wolf Resorts that you care about the original version of MagiQuest as well as their original expansion games, and that you want them all to stay for years to come!

Please share with them your own Great Wolf adventures regarding this petition. Please also share this petition with your family, friends, and fans alike, and help them to understand why this petition matters to them. Write your own letters, put them in your mailboxes and send them to your Great Wolf Lodge home addresses that currently have MagiQuest Legacy and ShadowQuest installed in their hotels, and tell them to keep the joy, magic, and spirit alive, and that you really care about them both!

Do not let them install the awful MagiQuest Evergreen remake into their hotels that currently have the Legacy version in them! We Magi fans and Master Magi wannabes deserve better!
