Save Lowell's Mill No 5 Unique Commercial Spaces

Save Lowell's Mill No 5 Unique Commercial Spaces
The Issue
Like many of us, the Lichoulas family's announcement that they're permanently closing Mill No 5 in January and donating the building to the Lowell Community Charter Public School (LCCPS) has come with great shock and surprise, particularly on the eve of Thanksgiving. While we can't reverse this decision, we can appeal to Mill No 5's new owners (LCCPS) to maintain the Mill's unique fourth floor shops as commercial spaces, accessible in primary weekend hours, where they would not conflict with LCCPS weekday school activities.
It goes without saying what Mill 5 has come to mean so much to anyone who calls Lowell their home: an essential cultural asset deeply integrated into the DNA of our city.
Please sign + share this petition if you'd like to appeal to Mill No 5's new owners, Lowell Community Charter Public School, to maintain Mill No 5's once-in-a-generation design and commercial spaces for future generations of residents and businesses alike.
