The cost of a transplant can range from 25 lakhs to 2 crores due to the complexity and risks involved, requiring highly skilled doctors and the most sanitary conditions to prevent infections during recovery. Post-transplant care includes costly medications to maintain the organ's health, monthly blood tests, biopsies, and antibody testing to prevent rejection, making the overall process very costly for the patient.

Given the government's efforts to systematize organ donations and ensure fair allocation to potential transplant recipients, organ recipients, and donors feel that financial assistance should also be provided to alleviate this significant burden.
