Dear Friend of Liverpool Street Station,
The planning application from Network Rail and Sellar to partially demolish Liverpool Street Station and build a huge tower over the Grade II* Great Eastern Hotel has finally been published. You can view it here. Alternatively, you can search by the planning reference 23/00453/FULEIA at https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/
We urgently need your help and support to stop this development! You can help in the following ways:
1. Make an objection
Please submit an objection to the plans by 3 December. We have written a guide to writing a valid objection which can be made online, by email or by letter, which you can read here.
2. Please donate to the Save Liverpool Street Station Fundraiser
We need you to please donate to our fundraiser on JustGiving to fight these plans!
Whatever happens, there will be a huge legal battle to stop these plans. If, as we hope, Michael Gove, the Secretary of State, calls this planning application in, it will go to a Public Inquiry. There the developers will throw everything they have at us to make sure this goes through. Help us to match their deep pockets and stand up for the hundreds of thousands who don’t want our heritage destroyed to make money. Every penny you give will make a difference, and Gift Aiding makes your donation bigger without you having to pay more.
3. Share our posts on social media
Please object and get others to do so too, and please donate to the fighting fund. If you can continue to share our posts on social media that would be great. Please share the link to the fundraiser and the link to how to object to the planning application.
4. Public Meeting hosted by Griff Rhys Jones at Bishopsgate Institute - 21st November at 6 pm
On 21st November we are holding an unticketed public meeting with Griff, our campaign President, where you can find out what heritage experts think about the proposed development at Liverpool Street Station and where you can ask questions. We have 200 seats and it will be first come first served on the door.
Venue: Bishopsgate Institute, 230 Bishopsgate, London EC2M 4QH
We will also be live-streaming this event and we will pass the link for this to you shortly.
These are the critical things that the public can do to Save Liverpool Street Station. We are winning the battle for public opinion. Your help will mean that we win the legal battle as well.
Thank you from Griff Rhys Jones and the LISSCA Committee for your continued support.
