Dear Local Residents,

Thanks again for all signing the "Save Lepton & Fenay Bridge from Development" petition. We have now gathered 619 signatures!

As your Almondbury Ward Councillor, I am up for Re-Election on Thursday May 6th. I hope I can count on your support, so I continue to campaign for you and local residents who are against Kirklees Labour Council allowing 851 houses to be built in Lepton & Fenay Bridge.

Listening to local residents I agree with you that it is wrong to build 800 plus houses on greenspaces near Rowley Lane. Penistone Road has had a few bad accidents in recent times. Brownfield sites should come first, some areas have problems with drainage in the area and could lead to pressure on local services e.g. Lepton Schools/King James School, health services, roads etc.

I continue to campaign to save Lepton & Fenay Bridge Greenspaces with local residents, Lepton Vision Group(I am the only Councillor who attends LV meetings), via leaflets, Facebook, emails, phones, this petition & Huddersfield Examiner. I continue to work with Lepton Ward Cllrs Bob Smith & James Spivey.
