Cllr Bernard McGuin - Save Lepton & Fenay Bridge Greenspaces Update

Dear Local Residents,

Thanks again for all signing the "Save Lepton & Fenay Bridge from Development" petition. We have now gathered 556 signatures!

As your Almondbury Ward Councillor, I am up for Re-Election on Thursday May 6th. I hope I can count on your support, so I continue to campaign for you and local residents who are against Kirklees Labour Council allowing 851 houses to be built in Lepton & Fenay Bridge.

Listening to local residents I agree with you that it is wrong to build 800 plus houses on greenspaces near Rowley Lane. Penistone Road has had a few bad accidents in recent times. Brownfield sites should come first, some areas have problems with drainage in the area, Almondbury Community School will now be closed, as well as putting pressure on our other local services e.g. health services.

I continue to campaign on this local issue with local residents via leaflets, Facebook, emails, phone, meetings, this petition & Huddersfield Examiner. I continue to work with Lepton Ward Cllrs Bob Smith & James Spivey.

On a separate issue, Today I have helped get Two lilac trees planted in the grounds of Lepton Methodist Church. Thanks to Conservative Lepton Parish Councillor Bob Smith and the Church for co-operation on starting to improve Lepton Centre.
