Adapted Updated from WERS:
"Thank you so much to all of you who attended the meeting just over a week ago to communicate to the Planning Committee how concerned you all are about the proposed development.
Having so many of you in the gallery helped create the environment for Councillors to challenge the officer report which was strongly defended.
The outline planning application was refused thanks to strong presentations against from Steven, Bernice, John and Tim Murphy from CPRE. In addition Liz played an active part in highlighting the reasons for refusal during the discussions.
Approval was proposed by a Labour Councillor who didn't get a seconder or support from other Committee members. On the vote all the Residents Association Councillors voted against together with a Conservative Councillor. The Labour and Liberal Democrats Councillors abstained from the vote.
The RA Councillors pulled out all the stops to get this outcome. As a result we live to fight another day but we still have a tough challenge ahead and we will need your continued support. We now need to prepare of an Appeal of the decision.
The Residents Association AGM is on 10 March at 7.30pm at the Queens Stand, Epsom Racecourse and will be the forum to discuss the next steps on how we fight this at Appeal.
Thank you all for your support so far!"
