Dear All,

It has been a while since I shared an update with you all, so I thought I'd let you know what's been happening over the last few months.

• Using generous donations, the local Action Group set about getting the necessary surveys done and working with consultants and local ecology groups to put together an excellent document analysing the proposal and submitted the clear reasons for its rejection.
• We received news coverage in Surrey Live, BBC Radio and Online Surrey and Epsom and Ewell Times.
• Surrey Highways and Thames Water also proposed that the scheme indeed be rejected as did the local Racing Community.
• We have gathered ~360 Objections to the scheme so far and 1,900 signatures to this petition.
• Unfortunately, the hearing meeting to which this planning decision was due to be taken has been cancelled 3 times by the council and is now set for 29th Jan 2026 - this has allowed the developer time to attempt to submit some alterations (none substantive).
• The developer has come back with some alterations in an attempt to satisfy Surrey Highways concerns - however, although this may has softened SH stance on the proposal - these changes (which involve dangerous extensions/re-routing of Bridle paths unto areas with poor visibility) are totally unacceptable.

Please, even if you have already objected on the planning portal, go back on and comment again!

Let the council know that despite these minor amendements we do not want this scheme carving up our local area - these comments really do make a difference.

We must not lose momentum as this is how developers win these battles, by grinding down local communities - we must stand firm against these types of inappropriate schemes; once the land is gone, IT IS GONE!
