Kaipara District Council - LTP Consultation Document - Climate Adaptation Submission

I hope you don't mind me touching base once more.

Kaipara District Council have released their Long Term Plan Consultation Document with a specific question about climate adaptation and mitigation funding (as they said they would in their decision to "pause" all climate work.

This means we have the opportunity to make a submission asking them to continue their climate work rather than making the "pause" a permanent thing. As I mentioned in my two speeches to KDC the work that the Drainage Committee does covers only a small part of climate adaptation work.  We need Council to restart the wider programme of work to fully understand the range and nature of the risks, the tolerance that the community has to those risks and what would need to be done to mitigate those risks.
