Thank you for signing! We wanted to update you on compost collection at our garden. Jersey City has ENDED residential food waste collection and the shed outside the garden is locked.
We accept food waste drop-offs in the garden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on WEEKENDS ONLY, FREE OF CHARGE, until our bin is full. Please see a garden volunteer to drop off your compost, do not deposit it outside (or inside) without seeing a volunteer.
Community Compost Company is piloting a weekly compost pickup using the shed outside the garden for $20/month. They will start when they have enough families signed up. You must register for the program (combination lock system): https://www.communitycompostco.com/service-area-request-form
Please sign our petition and write the mayor to bring back free food waste collection in Jersey City.
