Hello there,

A huge thank you for signing our petition. Trinity Community Arts has now put forward a proposal. The proposal offers a future for the Baths that sees the building transformed into a multi-purpose community hub with a strong vision for facilities for dance and and young people. There will also be a steering group of key stakeholders to ensure good community representation. The proposal balances the history of building with the needs in the city and the local neighbourhood for a community space and facilities, particularly for young people. The proposal is a strong starting point and includes many opportunities for more input from local people and other interested parties. I understand that the proposal will be discussed at the next Cabinet meeting on 7 March. I would like to thank Emma Harvey and Trinity for their work in putting the proposal together in a very short period of time.

In the meantime, we want to keep raising public awareness of the history and value of Jacobs Wells Baths not just to our community but to the city. So many of you have shared your memories of swimming or attending dance classes. I am hoping to share some of these stories with the local press, if you would be happy to be interviewed or write a bit more about your memories of Jacobs Wells Baths, please do let me know.

Please do continue to share this petition and spread the word. It all helps to save this iconic building for our future.

With All Best Wishes

Rachel McNally
