Irwindale Speedway holds a special place in my heart, as well as many others in Southern California and LA. Drag racing started here and has become part of our community. This racing culture has grown into more than a sport - it's our tradition, our history, and it has given budding racers a legal venue to foster their passion.

Irwindale Speedway is not just any speedway. It serves as the local arena for amateur racers, aiding in reducing the occurrence of illegal street takeovers, sideshows, and urban drag racing - a significant law enforcement concern that has only grown over the years in Southern California.

Personally, drag racing at Irwindale Speedway has helped me gain confidence, meet some extraordinary people, and really grow as a person. Our vibrant and iconic venue is under threat of demolition, and when its gates shut, where will the next generation of racers go?
