Beware of the darkness. The war on history in Iowa is real.

Beginning in October - in less than a week - State Archivist Tony Jahn is bringing Prison Industries laborers to Iowa City to remove collections from the State Historical Society of Iowa's library and archives.

Thank you to all of our allies, representing a wide spectrum of citizens. We need your immediate help to raise awareness about impending doom for major portions of Iowa's historical records. Please find friends to sign the petition, especially if you live outside of Iowa City so we can mobilize forces in the state legislature before the opportunity to reverse this decision is lost. 

Join lovers of Iowa History at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 26, as we gather in Iowa City in front of the State Historical Society of Iowa, 402 Iowa Avenue for a brief announcement and special performance art. Bring your signs, cowbells, drums, tambourines, whistles, or pots and pans to bang. We won't march in the UI Homecoming parade but let's make some noise and garner more signatures for our petition.
