Save Hotel of Terror! Owner Artist and Fans Alike
The Issue

The Hotel of Terror has been in business in Springfield since 1978, that’s 44 years. Now the city of Springfield wants to take the building under of Sterling Mathis eminent domain- only offering 50% of what it will cost to move to another location. Mathis would go bankrupt with this bogus offer. This is an iconic building, where families have been going for YEARS, it’s part of our home and it’s Mathis’s life and passion. This is multilevel commercial real estate that the city is treating like a piece of garbage toward Mathis, while they will do nothing but profit from it. This isn’t only about small businesses and profit. This is about the employees and the people who spend ALL year planning and practicing and working hard to make this memorable for ANOTHER generation to walk thru along side some of the people who were there in 1978. Springfield is a very artistic town and by taking this away, especially in this manner, we are doing an injustice to our future generations along side the Mathis family. We don’t want to see what we love go and the person who made it suffer. Sit back and remember the first cool autumn night you went to Hotel of Terror. Think about the first time you went down that slide. The slight fear, the scream, the laughter and dopamine o coursing through you. Don’t deprive others of it as well. Your signature makes things change.
Head over to Hotel of Terror Facebook page and support them and take a look at the post showing the contact info for our members of council and mayor. YOU can be a part of this. Forever. Just as we hope Hotel of Terror is for us.

Thank You!
