In case you can't see this story (probably behind a paywall), the Halifax Examiner reports on how one developer sold the building he wanted to demolish to another business owned by his family. They figured out a way to lift and building, move it a bit onto a new foundation and incorporate it into their new build of nine stories behind. This is better for all. We're urging the province to stop senseless demolitions, and to not allow permits to be issued until there are approved plans and a schedule of work.  Too many old buildings are being allowed to deteriorate and then be bulldozed, just to get them out of our view. Out of sight, out of mind. No-one regrets losing an empty lot, or a parking lot, when eventually the plans come through. Let's hope Dal planners read about this creative way to incorporate our built heritage into their new architecture projects.
