Hi all. This evening we saw these signs placed next to 1245 Edward. We don’t know who placed them there, and have been trying to find out. Even more urgent that you take a moment to personally email Dal’s President (deep.saini@dal.ca) and insist he put a pause on the demolition while the heritage review is underway by the city.
You can also tell Councillor Waye Mason, who agrees with us that this demolition is wrong, that the city needs to say no demo to Dal and let the heritage review if this special property unfold with the house still standing. Waye.Mason@halifax.ca.
Also cc. Peter.coutts@dal.ca and Nathan.rogers@dal.ca in Facilities Management.
Dal’s architecture profs insist there is a housing crisis in Halifax, and that refusing to speak to neighbours is not the way to run a university that says it prides itself on good relationships with the community. We thank them, and hope they intervene tomorrow.
Keep sharing the petition and write to Dal to say no. I hope we are not too late. Will update you tomorrow. Thank you!
