Thank you everyone, for your support and for sharing the petition to save 1245 Edward Street from Dalhousie University's wrecking ball. We're over 5,000 names!!
Word is spreading and there is more media coverage to come, including early tomorrow a.m. when I'll be on Global Halifax's morning show at 7:40 a.m. We're expecting another story in The Chronicle Herald as well as well as letters to the editor (and feel free to write one yourself). Please do keep sharing on social media, and writing to Dal's President Deep Saini - deep.saini@dal.ca.
Just back from historic Antigonish and loved the old houses that are so beautifully maintained and repurposed in that university town. Why can't Dal take a look and talk to its neighbours about all the great ideas you've mentioned - home for a refugee family, repurposed housing for students, university offices, non-profit rental facilities, even incorporating the house into a re-design of their Glengary student apartment rebuild?
Here's a lovely old house from Antigonish, running as a B&B. Happy Monday.
