A raft of supporting submissions to this proposal have been made on the BCP planning portal.
Turns out, a swathe of them belong to employees or associates of Nuffield Health.
It wouldn’t appear that many are interested in stating why this is the right place for their new hospital. Most of them simply give reasons why a new hospital would be a good thing. Quite a few do not know what to write in support and leave the comments blank.
It was never the question, whether a hospital would be a good or bad thing. The question was whether it should be built on Highmoor Farm. To my view, such submissions are not material and irrelevant, and I hope the planning committee sees this too.
I cannot believe that, as of today, a company’s employees/consultants/associates can support its own planning application. After all, many of these will benefit in their day-to-day from the new facilities provided in this ‘state-of-the-art’ development. In my opinion, this should be a conflict of interest and prohibited.
Wildlife organisations have made submissions which state that the Heath and the Farm are functionally linked. The last HSA application was rejected because it would not protect the Heath. If these ‘supporters’ are not aware of this then they are either wilfully blind, can’t be bothered to check the facts of the case or know and simply don’t care.

Over 5,000 signatures is amazing, thank you so much. Please continue to share if you can. Planning objections can still be submitted in the planning portal, details below.
