Heba is an EL teacher at McAuliffe elementary school in Tinley park Illinois  she is an amazing teacher who is loved by staff and students alike  she sponsers the kindness club and other events at school and she is an asset to any school community  

On March 7 an email was sent out to staff from the district office (ksd 140) that the muslim staff found very offensive and intentionally un-inclusive.

On March 9 Heba had a meeting with said person and asked why the email was worded in such a way. Instead of being inclusive , the email came off as very exclusive. Heba relayed the frustration of the muslim staff members at the lack of inclusivity. 

on March 12, Heba was called into the principals office and applauded on her exemplary teaching. Then shockingly the principal told her that she is not renewing her contract with Heba. When Heba asked why, they said, “it’s just not the right fit”. After nearly five years with the school she was asked to turn in her resignation or be fired. 

there is absolutely no just cause for this termination and Heba is determined to fight for her position in the school. The only reason would be the conversation that she had with the district EL coordinator. Maybe she didn’t appreciate the passion and dedication that Heba has for the Muslim population.
