To whom it may concern:

We the fans of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe urge Mattel to cease production of the new Masters of the Universe movie as it is poised to make the same detrimental mistake the first live-action MOTU movie made.

The "stuck-on-Earth" plot of the original 1987 film did irreparable damage to the MOTU property, and with all the investments Mattel has recently made in multiple toylines, Netflix series, and comics, it is shocking that they are willing to risk it all on making the same mistake again. Unfortunately, we the fans stand to lose the most if this movie comes out and fails, as a poor box office performance will negatively impact the investments made in figures and other media.

Movie-going audiences want to see something truer to the source material, and there is plenty of MOTU source material for a true-to-form film, even a franchise. And seeing as the core fanbase has reached adulthood, the movie can be dark, gritty, and could stand to take itself more seriously.

What we've seen so far of this new production promises to be a sad, bargain-bin parody of our beloved Masters of the Universe. Please, for the love of Eternia, stop this atrociously disrespectful drivel from continuing. Treat the property, the fans, and the cast with some respect.
