Some very good news-  Councilman Omar Torres of District 3, which includes the Grace Baptist Church, has officially sent a memo of support to Ben Leech of the Preservation Action Council saying that he will sponsor the Sanctuary as an Historic Landmark. This, among other things, relieves GBC from the $6,000 fee which would normally be due if they were sponsoring themselves.  Things are now finally in motion, although it will be a slow process, October at earliest for landmarking. I will post something if there substantial progress.

We maxed out at 2,844 signatures, and honestly, this would never have worked out so well without you all.  A lot of money wanted this demolition to happen.  It was only this show of public support that changed their minds.  Well done!
