Save Goldsmiths as a Critical, Experimental Space for Art and Politics!
Save MA Art & Politics!
- We decry Goldsmiths' decision to effectively eliminate the artistic exploration of politics that defines MA Art & Politics.
- We believe this decision stains Goldsmiths' legacy as a critical, experimental space for art and politics.
- We request full transparency from the administration in consultation with affected students and Goldsmiths' staff & student Unions on the financial justifications and alternative paths explored.

The current proposal is to 'merge' MA ART & Politics with MA Global Politics and Activism, effectively eliminating the artistic exploration of politics that defines our unique course.
Bernadette's career is on the line; Goldsmiths' legacy as a critical, experimental space for art and politics is on the line.
This decision comes in the broader context of several years of restructuring and redundancy threats at Goldsmiths. While this reflects a troubling national trend in Higher Education, Goldsmiths has obviously been on the frontline of these challenges.
Our cohort has been pursuing internal channels first with the support of GUCU and our Students’ Union and initiating a space for constructive dialogue with administration . We have been advised that with sufficient collective pressure, decisions like this might still be reversed. We want to see a public debate on Goldsmiths' future and governance.
We appreciate your alliance in advance!
We are a small but mighty MA cohort. During Term 1, we fought for the reinstatement of module 'Art, War, Terror' and won. We launched the Art & Politics Society, bringing you weekly guest speakers since Octobre 2025, including none other than Stewart Lee. Final term speaker: Magic Magid 17 March 12pm Rm MRB10/2
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
