Sharing some good news!

Wamp asks commission to pull proposed rural tourism zone that community groups pushed back on (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

Our advocacy and outreach efforts worked in record time to protect our parks and public lands!

The Hamilton County Mayor's Office  heard our voices and has moved to table the Parks and Recreation Zoning District resolution that so many local groups and community members shared concerns about. Our primary concern was how this zoning could be applied to public lands and parks, potentially allowing up to 30% of park land to be commercially developed.

Thank you to SORBA Chattanooga, McDonald Farm Advisory Committee, Cherokee Sierra Club, Hamilton County Citizens for Responsible Development and everyone who contacted their officials in support of our parks.

We will keep our eye on this and continue to show up for our public lands.

Thank you for continuing to be a part of this effort to protect and support our public parks, green spaces, and conservation areas.

-Melissa, Elspeth, Nathan, and Hadrien
