Friends,

As you are all most likely aware at this point, Echo Park Lake has been cleaned up and will remained fenced off until Summer 2021 after renovations are complete.

While I wasn't always the biggest supporter of Mitch O' Farrell, and the lake should have never been allowed to get to degrade to the point it did - he has indeed fulfilled his promise to the residents both housed and unhoused, and to the stakeholders of Echo Park.

Not only did he clean up the lake, he placed 209 unhoused residents into housing at the LA Grand Hotel - and much more permanent housing is being built by his team.

After the clean up of the lake was done, guns, knives, and hundreds of needles where discovered. See his walk through of the lake here: https://www.nbclosangeles.com/on-air/councilmember-mitch-ofarrell-addresses-echo-park-protests/2560527/

Now the question is, will you continue to support him and his efforts to keep the lake a park everyone can enjoy?

Supporting him is easy. Wednesday, 3/31/21 - at 10:00 AM, there will be a city council meeting where young activists (Who have come here from more wealthy areas) will call in to try and spread disinformation and shame O'Farrell for doing what we all wanted him to do. If you are able to, you can call into the meeting to defend the fencing off of the lake for renovations, and try to stop the spread of disinformation claiming that he "displaced" residents when in fact he provided housing for all of them (Even though many declined).

Here are the instructions for how to call in:

WEDNESDAY - 10 AM - 3/30/21

"Recommended to call in 10 minutes early. Members of the public who wish to offer public comment to the Council should call 1 669 254 5252 and use Meeting ID No. 160 535 8466 and then press #. Press # again when prompted for participant ID. Once admitted into the meeting, press *9 to request to speak."

Will you let activists continue to try to spread misinformation, so that they can try to once again re-colonize our park? Or will you call in to help the cause of the neighborhood to restore our park to a place of prosperity that all can enjoy? This is an easy and simple way to let your voice, as a resident, be heard. Don't let phony corporations such as Streetwatch LA control what happens in our parks. Call in and state your beliefs!

His emails, overwhelmed by thousands of activists, could also use a boost - if you would like to tell him you actually support the work he did. Email him at councilmember.ofarrell@lacity.org

PARKS ARE FOR EVERYONE - NOT JUST FOR A SELECT FEW
