Friends,
It's been a long road getting from there to here, but our time is finally near. Mitch O'Farrell has finally made good on his promise to clean up the lake and house the unhoused. With a combination of hotel vouchers, tiny homes, and other housing options, there is now enough housing for everyone staying at the lake!
As reported by the LA Times, and The Eastsider, at some point this week, an attempt will be made to close down the park for renovations to repair the damage the unhoused caused to our park (At a cost of $600,000) and restore the park!
This is significant news. It means the pressure of this petition, and the hard work all of our fellow neighbors have put in to this effort has finally come to fruition.
Activists have vowed to try to stop the clean ups at all costs. For some reason, they believe allowing unhoused people to die at the lake is preferable to them being housed in hotels and brand new tiny homes where they will be safe. Their bizarre colonization of the park is now coming to an end.
I will keep you all posted on how the events play out over the next week.
