Dear Supporters
I hope you are well,
The Campaign to Save the Seven local libraries under threat of either being closed or handed over to voluntary organisations will conclude at the Council Cabinet meeting on Tuesday 16th July. Whatever the Council decide, the reality is a number of professional library workers in Ealing will sacked or be forced to accept redundancies, having served their Ealing community for years.
UNISON: “We believe that Ealing Council has not proved willing to look at alternative ways of funding the service unlike the neighbouring boroughs of Hounslow and Hillingdon. This short term and short-sighted decision will have a damaging impact on the most vulnerable members of our local communities and on the future of our children who need access to books and a safe space to learn and study….. Thank you to those who came out leafleting last Saturday, the hottest day of the year so far.”
