A big thanks must go to Alan Wylie, a long-term national library campaigner, who was contacted by journalist, Katie Mansfield of The Bookseller magazine about the proposed library changes in Ealing and public campaign. The current issue can be accessed via the link below. Please do read to get a fresh overview of the impending crisis.
Main Action Points to Date:
· Public Meeting on Wednesday, 8th May, in the Liz Cantell Room, Ealing Town Hall, from 7 pm to 8.30 pm – Please spread the word, and attend if you can.
· Plans to march in Greenford, week ending, Friday, 24th of May or Saturday, 25th of May (TBC).
· Plan to run stalls and inform local schools about the march.
· A UNISON sponsored letter to be emailed to individual local councillors.
· Group protests where councillors present themselves in public to protest about the libraries, including leafletting supportive people on today’s march in Southall this Saturday, 27th of April, to commemorate the racist killing of Gurdip Singh Chaggar and Blair Peach. Assemble at 2pm in Dominion Road for a procession, followed by a rally outside Southall Town Hall, 1 High Steet, UB1 3HA, 4 pm,(http://southallresists40.com/
